Defence Attaché Orientation Course in Defence and Diplomacy as the Joint Project of the GCSP and PSOTC

The Peace Support Operations Training Centre in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy had delivered the Defence Attaché Orientation Course in Defence and Diplomacy from 23rd to 28th June 2019.

This course was 8th iteration of the Defence Attaché Orientation Course in Defence and Diplomacy for military officers, diplomats and senior officials involved in defence and diplomacy. The course was attended by 25 participants from 13 countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Bulgaria, Check Republic, Croatia, Egypt, Malta, Pakistan, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and USA). Besides PSOTC and GCSP staff, the course was delivered in support of different organizations and agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad including: the MoD and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, EU Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, University of Sarajevo, George C. Marshall Center and the US, German and Swiss Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The PSOTC had an honor to host the Ambassador’s panel as the last session during the course where participants had a chance to hear different thoughts on the defense attaché – ambassador relations. The Ambassador’s panel consisted of the Swiss Ambassador to BiH, H.E. Ms. Andrea Rauber Saxer, the Deputy Chief of the US Embassy in BiH, Ms. Ellen Germain, and the representative of the MFA BiH, Ambassador Mr. Almir Šahović.
