UN Police Officers Course Started at PSOTC

UN certified “UN Police Officers Course”, joint project of PSOTC and Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, started at PSOTC today, 26th September 2022.

UN Police Officers Course will be conducted from 26th September to 7th October 2022. The course is attended by 28 participants from 5 countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Ireland, Montenegro, and Saudi Arabia). Besides PSOTC staff, the course will be conducted by instructors from different police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden. The aim of the course is to turn capable police officers into competent peacekeepers who can fulfill police aspects of UN peace operations mandates in accordance with DPO/DOS principles and guidelines and their underlying international legal standards, perform their police functions in a practical, professional, and integrated manner as well as to demonstrate the core values and competencies of the United Nations. 

The opening session of the course was augmented by the presence of Col Werner Klaffus, German Armed Forces UN Training Center Commander.
