Lieutenant Colonel Damir Alibašić is the esteemed Commandant of the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC). Before his current appointment, LTC Alibašić held a series of important positions within the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he developed profound expertise in peace operations, peace support operations, building integrity, counterinsurgency, strategic communications (STRATCOM), operational planning, and quality assurance.
Commissioned in 1992, LTC Alibašić has built a distinguished career through a broad range of roles, including Squad Leader, Platoon Leader, Battery Commander, Operations Officer, Planning Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, and Head of the PSOTC Mobile Training Team and the Education and Training Development Section. His extensive military education includes the Officer Advanced Course and the Command and General Staff Course, complemented by various specialized training programs both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Defence and Security from the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo.
LTC Alibašić's international operational experience is marked by significant contributions as a UN Military Observer with the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) from 2006 to 2007, and as a Staff Officer in ISAF Regional Command North, Afghanistan, in 2010.
His exemplary service has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the UNMEE Medal for his service in Ethiopia and Eritrea, the Non-Article 5 NATO Medal for his contributions in Afghanistan (ISAF), and both the Silver Plaque of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Silver Plaque of the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
