On 19 May 2026, the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) f the Aemed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) had the honor of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Maryland National Guard (MDNG), led by Brigadier General Craig Hunter, the Director of the Joint Staff of MDNG. The delegation was accompanied by Colonel Gregory Holmes, United States Defence Attaché to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives from the Office of Defence Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of PSOTC, together with the Centre’s staff, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and delivered a comprehensive briefing on the Centre’s mission, activities, and key achievements. During the briefing, he highlighted PSOTC’s internationally recognised role and its significant contributions to global cooperative security and peace support operations.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for constructive dialogue, during which Brigadier General Hunter and Colonel Alibašić explored possibilities for further enhancing cooperation between MDNG and PSOTC. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding individual training opportunities for both non-commissioned officers and commissioned officers, as well as strengthening mutual engagement in professional military education.
This visit represents a continuation of the strong and enduring partnership between AF BIH and MDNG, which has been successfully developed over more than two decades. This long-standing cooperation serves as a clear example of effective international military collaboration, contributing to enhanced capabilities, strengthened interoperability, and the promotion of regional and global peace and stability.
