The visit reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between PSOTC and NATO Headquarters Sarajevo and provided an opportunity to discuss contemporary security challenges, evolving operational requirements, and the importance of education and training in preparing military and civilian professionals for multinational and complex operational environments.
During the visit, Brigadier General Fowler received a comprehensive briefing from the PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Damir Alibašić, on the Centre's mission, objectives, key achievements, and ongoing education and training activities. The briefing highlighted PSOTC's contribution to strengthening national and transnational capacities through internationally recognized programs supporting peace support operations and security cooperation.
Particular attention was given to PSOTC's role as a NATO institutionally accredited Education and Training Facility and its commitment to delivering high-quality education and training for members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, government institutions, international organizations, and partner nations. Discussions also addressed emerging security concepts, professional development, and the continued importance of interoperability among allied and partner forces.
Both sides emphasized that education and training remain essential for building resilient institutions, developing effective leaders, and enhancing operational readiness. The visit further provided an opportunity to identify areas for future cooperation in support of shared objectives related to peace, stability, and security.
Colonel Alibašić expressed appreciation for the continued support and engagement of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships in maintaining the relevance and quality of PSOTC's educational and training programs.
The visit concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation and investing in the professional development of military, police, and civilian personnel. Through continued collaboration and knowledge exchange, PSOTC remains dedicated to supporting national, regional, and international efforts that contribute to lasting peace and security.
