The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, successfully concluded the United Nations Police Officers Course (UNPOC) on 2 October 2026, reinforcing the readiness of police personnel to contribute effectively to contemporary United Nations peace operations.

The two-week course brought together 13 participants, including nine police officers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and four representatives from partner nations, reflecting the importance of international cooperation and interoperability in addressing today's complex peace and security challenges.

Designed to prepare police officers for deployment in multidimensional UN peace operations, the course provided a comprehensive understanding of the role of United Nations Police in maintaining security, supporting the rule of law, protecting human rights, and assisting host nations in post-conflict environments. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, practical exercises, and scenario-based learning, participants strengthened their professional competencies and enhanced their ability to operate effectively in multinational mission settings.

The training was delivered by an international team of instructors and subject matter experts from partner countries, law enforcement agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Drawing upon extensive operational experience from peace operations worldwide, the instructors provided participants with valuable practical insights, lessons learned, and best practices relevant to the evolving nature of international peace operations.

During the closing ceremony, PSOTC Commandant Colonel Damir Alibašić congratulated the participants on successfully completing the course and commended their professionalism, dedication, and active engagement throughout the training.

"Peace operations require highly qualified personnel capable of operating effectively in complex and demanding environments. Through courses such as UNPOC, we continue to invest in professional excellence, strengthen international partnerships, and contribute to global efforts aimed at maintaining peace, stability, and security," Colonel Alibašić stated.

As a recognized international centre in peace operations training, PSOTC remains committed to supporting the preparation of military, police, and civilian personnel for participation in international missions. Through sustained cooperation with national and international partners, the Centre continues to enhance professional capabilities, promote interoperability, and contribute to international peace and security.
