On 3 July 2026, the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) has successfully concluded the United Nations Military Observers Course (UNMOC), a three-week intensive training programme designed to prepare military officers for service as Military Observers in United Nations peace operations.

This year’s course brought together 16 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and six partner nations, reflecting the multinational character of UN peacekeeping missions. The diverse composition of the course enabled a valuable exchange of professional experiences and perspectives while enhancing cooperation and interoperability among officers who may serve together in future missions.

The training was delivered with the support of instructors from five renowned international partner education and training fcilities, alongside lecturers from AF BiH and police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their collective expertise created a dynamic learning environment, allowing participants to engage in realistic exercises and scenario-based training fully aligned with United Nations standards and operational requirements.

During the closing ceremony, Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of PSOTC, addressed participants and distinguished guests. He highlighted the vital role of international cooperation in peacekeeping operations and commended the participants for their commitment, professionalism, and dedication throughout the course. Colonel Alibašić noted that the knowledge and skills acquired during the training will contribute to strengthening future UN peace operations and supporting peace and stability in conflict-affected regions around the world.

The UNMOC at PSOTC continues to serve as a key platform for building global partnerships, improving interoperability, and preparing future peacekeepers to effectively support United Nations mandates. The successful completion of the course further demonstrates the enduring commitment of both PSOTC and AF BiH to excellence in international peace operations training.
