The hosts of this formal academy were included Mr. Zukan Helez, Bosnia and Herzegovina's minister of defense, and HE Julian Reilly, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During their addresses, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Zukan Helez, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland H.E. Julian Reilly, PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Elvedin Omić, and the first PSOTC Commandant, retired Brigadier Chamberlain Henning BRØCHMANN, emphasized the importance of the existence of such a center not just for the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina but for the country as well, not forgetting to point out its contribution to spreading the positive image of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the international environment.
They reminded once again of the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently one of the two countries in the world that is not a member of the NATO alliance, and has a NATO accredited center, which speaks volumes about the quality of the PSOTC. All of them pointed out how big and important this PSOTC story is, and that this importance and size is not only reflected in the number of participants who have attended courses in PSOTC over the past 20 years, but also in the number of trainees that the Mobile Training Team of PSOTC has trained in a large number of countries around the world.
At the end of their addresses, they sent their congratulations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the PSOTC with the sincere wish that the PSOTC continues to conduct world-class training, to meet the expectations of partners around the world, but also to always contribute in the best way to spreading the positive image of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After official addresses, Minister Helez awarded a gold plaque from the Ministry of Defense to the PSOTC as a reward for all the effort and success that this center has achieved over the past 20 years. In addition to the PSOTC, a gold plaque was also awarded to the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and to other individuals who earned this award through their hard work and commitment. In addition to the awards given by the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Helez, awards from the competences of the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina were also presented.
All present at this ceremony had the opportunity to enjoy the festive program organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of PSOTC. In addition to the Military Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the baton of Second Lieutenant Neven Marinković, Mr. Adnan Alagić as well as the members of KUD "Slavija"-East Sarajevo were responsible for the beautiful atmosphere.
