The CSDP Orientation Course fulfilled its goal in providing overall understanding of the CSDP institutional framework, current policies, as well as structures and processes. The CSDP Orientation Course is a major component of the ESDC training activities with the aim to develop and promote a broad understanding of CSDP as an integral part of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the European Union. 28 participants from 14 countries (AUT – 2, BIH – 7, HRV – 1, CYP – 1, EST – 2, EU (ESP) – 1, FRA – 1, GER – 6, ITA – 1, NLD – 1, PRT – 1, SRB – 1, SWE – 1, ESP – 1, TUR – 1) got the knowledge about development of a European security culture as well as cooperation between the EU and non-EU partners in the global security environment.

The course has been built in cooperation of the ESDC, AUT NDA and PSOTC. Besides aforementioned institutions, European External Action Service (EEAS), EU Military Staff (EUMS), Center for Security Studies Sarajevo, Atlantic Initiative Sarajevo, and the University of Sarajevo (Faculty of Political Science and Faculty of Electrical Engineering) gave great contribution to the delivery of the course. The closing ceremony was held on 6th December 2019 and it was augmented by the presence of the ESDC Director, Mr. Dirk Dubois, Austrian Defence Attache Colonel Erich Simbürger  and the PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Edin Bajramović.
