The NATO-accredited Utility of Gender in PSO Course has been concluded today with a closing ceremony. On behalf of the PSOTC Commandant, the Chief of Training and Education Department, LTC Damjan Sukara, addressed the participants. Altogether 25 participants from 11 different countries participated and successfully completed this course. The course was developed in order to increase awareness and provide a conceptual understanding of gender issues in the security sector. It has a particular focus on Peace Support Operations (PSO) and how participants in peace operationsshould understand women’s needs and their role as actors within the society that they are mandated to protect.
